Recently, Acer’s recently launched Aspire 3935-6504 notebook earned PC Mag's GreenTech seal of approval. PC Magazine says:
“The 3935 earns our GreenTech Approved award, having acquired certifications from three accredited institutions: Energy Star, EPEAT (Silver), and RoHS. Energy Star is a U.S. government–backed program that helps businesses realize the energy-efficiency potential of their products, while EPEAT and RoHS evaluate products based on a broader range of environmental attributes, including energy efficiency and recyclability. Furthermore, PCMag.com ran its own test to ensure that Acer met our green requirements. We used a P3 Kill A Watt meter to record the amount of energy consumed during idle, sleep, and shutdown states. The Aspire 3935 registered an 11-watt reading in the idle state, which is 3W lower than Energy Star's guidelines. In sleep and shutdown states, it consumed zero watts, which was very impressive.”
